The Stereotactic radiosurgery with Gamma knife needs fixation of a frame over patients head under local anesthesia. Many patients feel a discomfort with the thought of placing the frame however, I would like to ensure you that frame fixation is not a painful procedure and is routinely done with practically no discomfort under local anesthesia.
