Normal average vs Weighted average in short cut excel

In Excel, a Normal Average (AVERAGE function) treats all data points equally, summing them and dividing by the count; a Weighted Average gives different importance (weights) to values, multiplying each by its weight, summing those products, then dividing by the sum of weights, often using SUMPRODUCT and SUM functions for accuracy in financial or grading scenarios where values aren't equal. Use normal average for simple datasets, but weighted average for complex ones like varying test difficulty or item sales volume.
