Philly Jesus Takes It To the Streets

For the last four months, Michael Grant, a 28-year-old former heroin addict, has been dressing as Jesus, hanging out at LOVE Park and calling himself “Philly Jesus.” On July 26th, as he does every other Saturday, Grant walked seven miles down North Broad Street to LOVE Park carrying his 12-foot cross. He spoke with strangers who approached him, he brought the dance party to a church a block party and he baptized strangers in LOVE Park fountain.
