Astrophotography Stacking Feature in Affinity Photo 1.9 🆕 along with Easy Background Removal Filter

Serif just dropped a major 1.9 update to Affinity Photo which happens to have a new tool for Astrophotography. They have now included Astrophotography stacking mode into the program which is a one stop shop for aligning, correcting and stacking photos to produce a final image ready for curve and colour adjustments.

It allows for calibration of your bias, flats, darks, flat darks with the light integration files. It allows for sigma clipping which is great for removing imperfections which means it’s a suitable substitute for many other stacking programs.

The next step is background reduction which while basic (automatic based on selected points) it does give a good effect and allows for real noise reduction in the image.
