How to make Dried Persimmons || 곶감 만들기

안녕하세요~
오랜만이에요. I have been busy with university and studying for exams but now that the first semester is over, I finally have time to make videos again. And today, I am sharing with you guys one of my favorite things to make during the fall/early winter: dried persimmons! If you haven't tried persimmons before, I highly recommend them! They taste delicious fresh and dried! When you dry persimmons, they get a higher concentration of sugar. My sister likes to decribe dried persimmons as a bite of natural sugar. :D

Another thing I love about making dried persimmons is that it can be made in Minnesota! Although it is often too cold or humid here, dried persimmons can be made without a food dehydrator! But I would recommend hanging them somewhere with a lot of air flow to avoid the possibility of mold growing on them. :D

If you are worried, you can dip the peeled persimmon in boiling water for five seconds before hanging them up to dry. Also, the time line varies depending on humidity/temperature, but usually within two days, the peeled outside skin becomes hard enough for me to GENTLY massage the fruit. Throughout a long period of times (a couple of weeks) you want to gently massage the fruit and break up the pulp inside. This ensures an evenly dried persimmon ^^
