Mahindra Scorpio-N Summary
Latest Update: Single and dual-cab test mules based on the Mahindra Scorpio N were spied testing recently in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. However, it is still unclear whether the production-spec models of the Scorpio N based pickup trucks will be launched in India. The Mahindra Scorpio N has received new features across its higher-spec Z8 range.

Price: The Mahindra Scorpio N is priced from Rs 13.85 lakh to Rs 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).

Variants: It is available in four broad variants: Z2, Z4, Z6, and Z8.

Colour Options: Mahindra offers it in six colour options: Deep Forest, Everest White, Napoli Black, Dazzling Silver, Red Rage, and Midnight Black.

Seating Capacity: It is both 6- and 7-seater configurations.

Engine and Transmission: The Scorpio N comes with two engine choices:

A 2.2-litre diesel unit, producing 132 PS and 300 Nm or 175 PS and up to 400 Nm, based on the variant chosen

A 2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 203 PS/up to 380 Nm

Both the engine trims mentioned above are paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. There is an option of both 2WD (two-wheel-drive) and 4WD (4-wheel-drive) drivetrains, although only with the diesel engine.

Features: Key features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and wireless phone charging. Additional equipment includes a 6-way powered driver seat, a sunroof, and a 12-speaker sound system. The higher-spec Z8 variants now also get ventilated front seats and auto-dimming IRVM (inside rear view mirror).

Safety: Safety net includes up to six airbags, front and rear cameras, hill-assist control, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and electronic stability control (ESC).

Rivals: The Mahindra Scorpio N competes with the Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, Hyundai Creta, and Hyundai Alcazar. It also serves as an off-road-capable alternative to the Mahindra XUV700.
