Part 1 of 18, Restoration of Addo Multo Model 3 Mechanical Calculator

This is a Multo Model 3 mechanical calculator manufactured by the Addo company in Malmo Sweden, probably in the 1950s, Serial No. 53544. It is a fairly basic machine with neither tens transmission in the counter register nor a back-transfer facility. As such, it is a relatively simple machine to work on. The Model 113 has both of these features, and is *much* more complicated.

This machine cost £12 on eBay.

This first video in the series is the initial evaluation, showing the condition of the machine as received. Further videos in the series will show the process of stripping the machine down as far as necessary to correct the faults, and rebuilding it. This isn't a "nuts and bolts" dismantle and rebuild; it only shows the procedures necessary to return this particular machine to full working order. Most of these involve freeing stuck parts!
