Well calculated overtakings and a close one at 1000Miglia

Follow my trip to Italy competing at the 1000Miglia 2019. What an amazing feeling to drive a MERCEDES 300 SL GULLWING together with Ellen Lohr.

Our car was an early produced piece of the fascinating W198 series. SL means "Super Leicht" in german, which means "Extra Light" in english. The world premiere of the production car was 1954 at the International Motor Sports Show, New York. It was produced between 1954 and 1957, 1.400 cars were built, 29 of them in aluminium, one of them was made from GFK. Top Speed 250kmh - the fastest production car of its time. 3l engine. 215hp. SPORTS CAR OF THE CENTURY.

Ellen, she won a DTM race in 1992 in a MERCEDES 190E 2.5-16 Evo2, got the experience of three 1000Miglia starts. That really helped a lot!

1000Miglia is the most famous classic car rallye on earth. Racing trough the most beautiful landscapes like Emilia Romagna, Toscana, Rome is incredible. So many fans on the roadside - you are really getting goose bumps.
