Elton John: "60 years on" after 50 years on

An amazing live studio performance from Elton John early in his career, from his first live album, 17-11-70. It must be the only genuine rock song where the piano takes the lead. There are many things to love about the performance. In particular, I love the contrast between the exquisite, tinkling piano only interludes, followed by rock hard walls of sound. And all from 3 only musicians and instruments. Such talent!

There are many versions of the song but this one has to be the best. According to Wikipedia:
"John has stated in several interviews that he believes that this recording is his best live performance. He has also cited the album as a great showcase for the musicianship of drummer Nigel Olsson and bassist Dee Murray. It is also the only officially released example of what John's live band sounded like prior to the arrival of guitarist Davey Johnstone, who wouldn't be a member until the release of Honky Château in 1972."

Beware of imitations! The original version of the song has been butchered (in my opinion) by a later remix.
