‘America is watching’ – US passes bill over China’s treatment of Uyghurs | The World

The US House of Representatives has passed a bill to counter what it calls the "arbitrary detention, torture, and harassment" of Uighur Muslims in China.

China reacted angrily, calling it a "gross interference".

But the bill still needs approval from the Senate and from President Donald Trump.

As The World’s Yvonne Yong reports, the Uyghur community in Australia have welcomed the move.
