This video applies to all of the smaller Designjets (including the Designjet 100 series 100 Plus/110/111/120/130) whether 4 ink or 6 ink, the principle remains the same. We are currently looking at a Designjet 100 where the black print quality is deteriorating on the machine. On the right hand side of the machine the video shows the printheads being uncovered. The carriage lever is unlatched carefully to avoid damage, the handle on the black printhead is picked up and pulled out vertically and the condition of the carriage underneath also checked for ink spillage. If necessary give it a light clean with a dampened lint free cloth. The new printhead is popped into the slot and the handle pushed down, the carriage is relatched and the cover closed. The machine will go straight into a printhead alignment to ensure all the printheads are functioning correctly. (see video on Printhead Alignment)
