‘I Hate Black People’: California Cop Quits After Shooting Black Man, Writing Racist Texts
Mark McNamara resigned from the San Jose Police Department after an internal affairs investigation uncovered alarming text messages denigrating Black people. The messages appear to reference a 2022 officer-involved shooting that injured K’uan Green. The Law&Crime Network’s Jesse Weber sits down with former police sergeant Derrick Levasseur to discuss the response from SJPD and what it means for Green’s lawsuit against the city.
