Ventrac Vs Mini Skid Steer : Trenching

http://ventrac.com In this video we compare how a traditional mini skid steer with a trencher and a Ventrac with trencher compare at digging trenches. We picked up a very common mini skid steer from a local rental yard, and used a Ventrac 4500Y with approximately 400 hours on it. The Mini Skid featured the same Kubota engine that powers the Ventrac 4500Y.

We placed these units side-by-side and raced them to see which could dig a 5-1/2" wide, 36" deep trench by 100 feet in length. We placed experienced equipment operators on both units, and instructed them to operate the machines to their fullest potential.

NOTE: The mini-skid steer was visually modified to conceal the brand identity. No modifications were done to the machine that would have altered the machine's performance.
