I saw a girl is so poor and hungry, she walked up to tables and ate from people's leftover plates in Manila, Philippines.

Girls her age usually obsess about how they look and what clothes they wear so it was unbelievable to see her fret about the flower in her hair while she was covered in grime and her clothes had huge stains.

One of my past regrets was not being able to help a lady who was so thin I thought she was just anorexic. But then I saw her eating off of other people's plates too in Vietnam, which was when I realized she was actually starving. I still remember her facial expressions. When I saw this person doing the same thing, I couldn't let it slide.

She didn't look undernourished or underdeveloped like many street people I've seen but something about her made me feel she was very poor, not in the traditional sense but almost neolithic, like I was observing a lost aboriginal tribe. Her behavior and mentality was that foreign.

She didn't really chew her food. I suspect she has some issues with her teeth. While there, I also met these Muslim children who were selling cigarettes and candy in that market. They lived in the corner behind their parent's street shops.

The whole experience became surreal as the girl walked backwards with the lyrics "she won't fade" playing in the background. I wish I could've stopped her from leaving or stop the people from walking past her, but alas, what are we to do? Go forward and make disciples of all nations. Thank you for watching.
