The Big Bad News about the Alpine Fault
Its worse than we thought...The hazard of a fault rupture (earthquake!) on the Alpine Fault in New Zealand has been upgraded following in depth research along several lakes in the West Coast of the South Island. The probability of a magnitude 8 earthquake in the next 50 years is now much higher than previously thought. In this video I interview Jamie Howarth who has led this research.
