Eid al-Fitr 2019 | Preparing for Eid, Baking Our Eid Cake & Celebrating Eid | Shamsa

Welcome to my Eid al-Fitr 2019 vlog! I share my Eid preparation, show you how I made our Eid rainbow cake and share how we celebrated Eid.

Eid rainbow cake ingredients (will make 2 layers)
- 120g Butter, softened
- 120g Caster Sugar
- 120g Self-Raising Flour
- 2 Large Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract/Flavour
- 1 tablespoon Milk
Beat mixture and split evenly between 2 mixing bowls. Add food colouring of your choice, and repeat the process for however many layers you wish to make. I made, red, orange, yellow, green and blue layers.
Bake in 20cm cake tins, in preheated oven at 180C/160C Fan assisted/350F/Gas Mark 4 for 12-15 minutes or until cakes are firm. Allow to cool fully before applying buttercream.

Buttercream ingredients:
- 220g Butter, softened
- 250g Mascarpone (or full fat soft cheese/cream cheese)
- 700g Icing Sugar
