For laying porcelain and natural stone tiles/slabs with adhesive on the external walls of the buildings it is
recommended or sometimes mandatory by the law the use of an extra mechanical system. For instance the Italian
law requires a mechanical system like RAI-FIX (patented) for tiles of format larger than 40x40 cm (16'X16').
So the combination of the adhesive and a mechanical safety system, like the RAI-FIX hooks screwed on the wall that hold each individual tile/slab, it is very important.
It's also important the full compliance with the way of application of the adhesives which assures the perfect slab adhesion to the wall, but this does not happen all the times.
In addition, it is not possible to forecast slab strains and assessment which may happen due to natural events such
as; extreme weather conditions with high or low temperatures, earthquake etc..
This system is suitable for tiles/slabs of minimum thickness of 9 mm.

Sistema di fisaggio meccanico di lastre.
• Per l'applicazione di rivestimenti di lastre in ceramica, marmo, ecc. di formato
maggiore a 40x40 cm è richiesto, oltre al fissaggio con adesivi, un fissaggio di
sicurezza meccanico. Gli adesivi garantiscono il perfetto ancoraggio delle lastre se
sono rispettate le modalità d'applicazione, non sempre questo si verifica.
Inoltre non sono prevedibili le sollecitazioni alle quali verrà sottoposta la lastra a
causa di assestamenti strutturali, dilatazioni per escursione termica, scosse telluriche, ecc.
