Palm Wax Candle Experiment | Part Two

Which wick worked best in the palm wax candles? This and other takeaways from the experiment.

The 5 criteria from ASTM F 2417:
- Flame height greater than 3”
- More than one flame per wick
- Container spills or tips
- Surface damage from candle
- Container cracks

And I also like to keep the wall temperatures less than 140°F - 150°F to limit surprises.

Rate of Consumption Equation (ROC):
ROC = (weight before - weight after) ÷ (burn time)
