To start, open the Facebook app on your phone. Tap the three-line menu icon located in the top right corner. From the menu, tap the gear icon to access your settings.

Within the settings menu, scroll down and tap on "Account Center." This section manages the connections between Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta services.

In the Account Center, find and tap on "Accounts." Here, you’ll see a list of all connected profiles. Look for the Instagram account you want to disconnect. Tap the "Remove" button next to your Instagram username.

A prompt will appear asking you to confirm the disconnection. Tap "Remove Account" to confirm. Once this is done, your Instagram and Facebook accounts will no longer be linked, meaning they won’t share posts, login info, or sync contacts between platforms.

This method can be done from either the Facebook or Instagram app, and the process is similar. If you want to re-link the accounts later, you can do so from the same Account Center.
