hi loves!!!
honestly, i don’t really know what’s going on with life right now. i hope that you guys are staying safe! it is a very confusing…stressful time. my parents are trying to get home, but i don’t want to because i’m scared of the traveling. cases in nyc are increasing, and now i only go out when i need food. to be honest, a for a few days i wasn’t feeling too good and my alarm bells went off (turns out i’m pretty sure it’s just the premenstrual shit because i just got my period yesterday and i feel a lot better now but i’m still going to be on the lookout). i am not going to get political, but this country that i am apart of, has done and is still doing an awful job at handling and reacting to this whole situation. my mom’s health isn’t great--her immune system is very low due to many health issues and i don’t want, even the slightest chance, to get her infected so i will be staying in nyc for the time being. there is also a financial burden placed on my dad. i offered to take a gap year from school so that it could relieve some of his stress—but he but he rejected that offer and said that as long as he’s working, my education is the most important.

speaking of education, i have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE how online art school is going to work. pratt students are currently petitioning for a pass/fail this semester instead of letter grades. it’s difficult— how do you learn printmaking, when you have no wood nor other supplies at home? how do you paint bigger pieces, when you have no access to materials in general? online art school is not art school. there are many issues that students are having with the school right now.

i had many summer plans/goals in mind but all of them are put on hold—which made me very sad and disappointed a week ago but i’ve come to accept it. it is what it is and the only thing i can do now is to practice social distancing and to just go with the flow of whatever happens. i know that i am very lucky and i’m very grateful for that—there are people out there unemployed, that can’t afford food, etc.etc.

compared to last week, i’m a bit more motivated to do creative stuff, film more videos, a little less stressed. i filmed this vlog yesterday. obviously, i spent a lot of time on my phone just looking at memes/texting and calling oops but that’s the only way to being social now. i’m trying to get back into reading and i ordered norwegian wood by murakami which should be coming monday so I’m super excited! i wanted it to be very calm, very soothing, hence just the background noise. you guys can put whatever music you want in the background!!!! i hope what i said didn’t stress you out, i just wanted to give an update on what was going on— honestly i’m pretty bad at talking about my feelings on camera— i end up getting awkward and i start laughing ( a response that i have towards difficult ?things?) which was why i decided to write it here.
