My Love/Hate Relationship with Rain Jackets: Gore R7 Shakedry Trail Rain Jacket Preview

I have always been disappointed with rain jackets. I expect my gear to perform and unfortunately, every rain jacket I have ever tried has eventually soaked through which bothers me. In my search for the perfect rain jacket, I stumbled across Andrew Skurka’s review of the Gore H5 Trail Hooded Jacket. He referred to it as a potential “Holy Grail” rain jacket so I had to give it a try. Gore has since discontinued their H5 (Fast Hiking) line so I purchased the Gore R7 Gore-Tex Shakedry Trail Hooded Jacket to give it a try.
