Drone video of La Palma volcano erupting to form new headlands

Red hot lava was seen exploding high into the air Cumbre Vieja volcano early on Wednesday as it enters it's seventeenth day of eruptions.

Members of Spain's Military Emergency Unit (UME) and the Canary Islands' Vulcanological institute (INVOLCAN) were seen on Tuesday grabbing lava rocks from inside the already solidified lava streams.

Roughly 1,000 buildings have been destroyed since the eruption began on September 19 and 6,000 people have been evacuated, mostly from the towns of El Paso and Los Llanos de Aridane, two of the main population centres on an island of 83,000 people.
