Radio Road Alert - 1965
Taken from a magazine programme made by Ford in the US called TV Almanac, this little film demonstrates an inventive new idea which shows thinking way ahead of its time. Radio Road Alert was a system of taped messages which were stored in a little player in the boot, and when activated by a roadside transmitter, would alert the driver through the car's radio of a hazard ahead. We are used now to traffic warnings interrupting the car stereo, but back in the mid sixties, this was a novel concept.
