Known for his cheeky persona and banging house tracks, Wongo turns up the sweetness with his latest single ‘Blip’. The follow up to his January 2022 release, ‘Apple’, ‘Blip’ sees Wongo team up with renowned songwriter Alex Burnett (Thelma Plum, Flight Facilities, Hayden James) to showcase the breadth of his production skills, transcending genres in the process. ‘Blip’ comes amidst a heavy touring schedule for Wongo, taking his Need2Freak parties with Little Fritter around the country, plus international shows in Bali and New Zealand, ahead of hitting the road for Grass Is Greener festival throughout October.

Wongo explains how ‘Blip’ came about, “This track has had a bit of a journey and I love that when a track isn’t just written and released. I originally wrote this record a couple of years ago and over the period of six months it slowly morphed into what became my last single ‘Apple’. If you are good at picking sounds apart, you can hear a lot of ‘Apple’ in this record. The amazing writer Alex Burnett wrote the lyrics and I feel they have a really good 'light/dark' thing going on. There’s big distorted acid sounds but turned down in volume just enough to let the sweetness of the vocal champion the song. I recently sent it to Confidence Man and they vibed so hard I had to make sure it was my next release!”

Topping off the A-list production team, ‘Blip’ was mixed by Ewan Pearson, whose production credits include The Rapture, Ladytron and Jagwar Ma, plus remixes for The Chemical Brothers, Goldfrapp, Franz Ferdinand and Depeche Mode, making ‘Blip’ an all-star cast.
