Samsung x5 speed test

Samsung X5 speed test using Black Magic. Your setup can affect the speed test. I used a Macbook pro 16 inch M1 which is a laptop with a lot of processing power and a very fast internal SSD, so I am confident that my setup won't be a bottle neck in this speed test.

My Samsung X5 is formated in APFS, and the file system can also affect the speed test. My results were slightly slower than advertized by Samsung. Being used to Apple products, which always perform better than adverized, I was actually expecting the Samsung X5 to be slightly faster than advertized.

All in all the Samsung X5 is a superfast external SSD, which is fully sufficient for my needs. But if you need an external SSD for editing 12K H265 the Samsung X5 is not the drive for you.

If you just need an external drive for every day task, or just for gaming I believe Samsung X5 ssd is one of the best external ssd for pc gaming.
