Prime Minister of Pakistan on the situation in Kashmir – Press Briefing

Press briefing by H.E. Mr. Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, on the situation in Kashmir.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan said the situation in Kashmir is going to “get worse,” adding that “there is a potential that two nuclear armed countries would come face to face.”

Speaking to reporters in New York today (24 Sep), Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan said, “eight million people in an open jail is unprecedented in this year of age, and then this non-sense that this is a part of India’s, so the world should stay out.”

He continued, “just to remind the world that there are eleven Security Council, UN Security Council Resolutions that recognize Kashmir as a disputed territory and which gave the rights to the people of Kashmir the right of self-determination to decide their destiny.”

The Pakistani Prime Minister also said, “the biggest worry is what happens once the curfew is lifted. We fear with 900,000 soldiers there, there will be a massacre, and that is also what I have been trying to tell the world community that they must act on it.”
