Building a Modern Slab Desk

I was recently commissioned to build a solid curly maple slab top desk with fabricated steel legs. I hired my good buddy Nick to help keep the project on track and meet the tight deadline, and as usual, we had a blast working together. We designed trapezoid legs at a 4 degree rake, inset the steel legs into the live edge slab, used Black Magic patina for the steel, and used a mono-coat over a hand planed finish on the wood.
