How To BUILD And MAINTAIN A Repertoire Of SONGS On Guitar
The Ultimate Fingerpicking Guitar Course: https://acousticguitarlessonsonline.net/fingerpicking-guitar-lessons
In this video, you learn how to build and maintain a repertoire of songs on guitar.
One of the biggest frustrations as a guitar player and musician is forgetting the songs you put so much time into learning.
Truth is, songs will come and go.
You will forget songs.
However, this is ok as long as you have a repertoire of songs you can play at any given time.
This list of songs will grow and evolve over time with tunes coming in and out, but the point is to have a list of songs you can play on guitar at the drop of a hat.
In this lesson, you learn to do exactly that.
I show you a great way to develop and maintain your guitar repertoire.
The key is organising the tunes you are learning into one of 3 categories:
• New Songs:
- These are songs you have never looked at before (kind of obvious)
• Current Songs:
- These are songs you currently know that you can play at a 90% rate of accuracy, all the way through, on a consistent basis
• Past Songs:
- These are tunes you have looked at in the past and had down at some point but have forgotten
And then having an effective practice strategy to work within each category while building your repertoire of songs.
You learn how to do all this in this video.
