বিশ্বের কোটি কোটি মুসলমানদের কাছে রমজান একটি পবিত্র মাস, এ মাসে মুসলিমরা ইবাদাত বন্দেগীর মধ্য দিয়ে মাসটি উৎযাপন করে থাকেন। এই সময়ে ইসলামের অন্যতম একটি ইবাদাত রোজা পালন করা হয়। কিন্তু সারা বিশ্বের মুসলমানরা কি সমান সময় রোজা পালন করেন? না। পৃথিবীর এক প্রান্তে কেউ রোজা রাখছেন ২০ ঘণ্টার বেশি, আর অন্য প্রান্তে কেউ মাত্র ১১ ঘণ্টা। কেন এমন হয়? এই প্রশ্নের উত্তর লুকিয়ে আছে আমাদের পৃথিবীর গঠন ও সূর্যের সাথে তার সম্পর্কের উপরে।

One of the most important acts of worship in Islam, fasting, is observed during this time. But do Muslims all over the world fast for the same amount of time? No. Some people in one part of the world fast for more than 20 hours, while others in the other part fast for only 11 hours. Why is this so? The answer to this question lies in the structure of our Earth and its relationship with the sun.
