It feels pretty damn good to be sitting here talking to you about a heavyweight clash like this one.

Even in recent years where the division has started to flourish through the pair of bouts between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou, as well as the trilogy shared by Miocic and DC - there was still a level of familiarity to what we were watching on one side or another.

Stipe had been the long-time champ of the division at this stage, and though the intrigue was there when Francis rose to become the most celebrated contender, I think this matchup between him and Ciryl Gane brings far more in the way of unknowns to the table - as well as a major forecast for the future.
