HOUSING CRISIS AND POVERTY IN ISRAELI ELECTIONS March 3rd 2015

TEL AVIV, Israel. Israel often makes headlines over its failure to reach an agreement with the Palestinians or over its desire to foil a bad agreement over Irans’ nuclear program. Security is definitely a big priority for Israelis. But, ever since throngs of people took to the streets of Tel Aviv a couple years ago to demand social justice, other issues have crept up on the domestic political scene. Chief among them is housing. Average Israelis are having an increasingly hard time finding affordable homes where they want or need to live. And that issue has very much been part of the campaign as our regional correspondent reports.
