“Ghoti” is a famous way to spell the word “fish” in English. In this video we look at 9 other, equally bizarre, spellings. The opposite difficulty, of many pronunciations for one spelling, is illustrated by 9 different pronunciations of the sequence “ough”. English orthography is indeed a challenge!
