Power Inverter Fix DC to AC 🔌

The most common problems on a DC to AC power inverter in order of failure are AC mosfets, a blown AC or DC fuse, DC mosfets, a blown capacitor or a voltage regulator.

Mosfet transistors are the bad boys and can cause up to 80% of the failures on a power inverter circuit board.

In this video I repair my SamlexPower 300 Watt 12v to 120v pure sine wave power inverter model PST-30S-12A they are also known as a grid tie inverter.

The diagnosis is done using a cheap multimeter and a fix can be accomplished using a modestly priced soldering iron. The cost of replacing the faulty components came to $9USD (2020 prices) .

The original Mosfets type FQP16N25C were replaced with an equivalent Mosfet type SSP20N60C3 whose specifications were slightly better than the original.
