How Can I Safely Fix a Wiggle Wobble Clutch Lever?

I never noticed how cheap and wobbly my clutch lever felt until I rode a Harley Breakout. The Harley has silky smooth precise levers. No wiggle! No wobble! Then I got on my bike and YUCK! The OEM clutch lever wobbles up and down and just feels cheap. I thought to replace it with higher quality levers or a new perch but even then it doesn't mean the slop will go away. The forums are filled with reports of new and old bikes with sloppy floppy clutch levers. I want to fix it but it needs to be safe. It needs to be quality. It needs to be permanent. But how?
