***** Dimash Kudaibergen * Video Compilation *****

Dinmukhamed Kanatuly Kudaibergen was born on May 24, 1994, in Aktobe, Kazakhstan, to singers Kanat Aitbayev and Svetlana Aitbayeva. Although Dinmukhamed is his official name, he has always been called by his nickname of Dimash, both at home and in public. His father Kanat Aitbayev previously led the regional Cultural Development Board of Aktobe. His mother Svetlana Aitbayeva is a soprano singer at the Aktobe Philharmonic Society, a Member of the Standing Committee on Social and Cultural Development (Deputy of Maslikhat of Aktobe region) and Artistic Director of the children's studio Saz in the Aktobe region. Both of Kudaibergen’s parents have been awarded the title of Honored Music Artists by the government of Kazakhstan. Kudaibergen has a younger sister, Raushan, and a younger brother, Abilmansur (Mansur).

Kudaibergen was brought up in a close-knit musical family, and his grandparents, who lived together with him and his parents, played a major role in his upbringing, following a traditional Kazakh custom. His grandmother, Miua Nizamutdinova, is a retired teacher of Geography and Biology, and also sang when she was younger.[ His grandfather, Kudaibergen Aitbayev, is a dombra player. Kudaibergen’s parents emphasized the importance of speaking the Kazakh language well and of playing traditional musical instruments such as the dombra. Growing up in this musical and cultural environment, he was fascinated with music from a young age. Kudaibergen’s parents regularly performed in concerts, and his grandparents took him to watch. His mother later recalled: "Dimash has always loved the stage. I remember at the end of the performance before we thanked the audience, Dimash [would] run up from where he was sitting in the audience with his grandparents to the stage and be with us to bow and say thanks.

Kudaibergen’s first appearance on the stage as a performer was at the age of two in a minor role in a local theatre production. At home Kudaibergen took an interest in musical instruments, and his parents noticed that he had absolute pitch. At the age of five, he began to take piano and vocal lessons at the children’s studio of Aktobe’s Zhubanov Music College (where he would later attend college), accompanied by his grandmother Miua. Kudaibergen first sang on stage the same year, at the age of five.[1] He has expressed gratitude to his first teachers, and to his grandmother, who took him to his lessons daily despite her leg pain. At the age of six, in 2000, he won the national piano contest Aynalayin.

As a young child, Kudaibergen dreamed of singing on a large stage. His childhood play and drawings were based on cassettes, microphones, stages, and himself singing on stage.[At the age of ten, he was the host at various local events. At school his teachers noticed that he was self-driven; that he studied the works of great Kazakh poets and writers, making their verses into songs and singing them; wrote poetry himself, and arranged music. Kudaibergen’s mother has recalled that he practiced hard to have a wide vocal range and never missed classes in the vocal studio even when he was injured. She attributes his ability to hold his breath for long periods of time to regular swim training since childhood.

From 2010 to 2013 Kudaibergen participated in several singing contests, winning four major competitions, in Kazakhstan (Sonorous Voices of Baikonur, 2010 and Zhas Kanat, 2012), Ukraine (Oriental Bazaar, 2012), and Kyrgyzstan (Makin Asia, 2013). In 2013 he was invited to perform as a guest singer at the Türkçevizyon Gala Night in Denizli, Turkey. As a teenager Kudaibergen was also engaged in Taekwondo and swimming. During this time he composed the music for two of his future hit songs, "Körkemim" (Kazakh: Көркемім), with the lyrics written by his father, and "Unforgettable Day", based on a poem by Oral Baisengir. Kudaibergen also recorded three music videos, two versions of "Körkemim" (2013,[38] 2014) and "Daididau" (Kazakh: Дайдидау, 2014).

In 2014 he graduated from Aktobe’s Zhubanov Music College, and began his studies in Astana at Kazakh National University of Arts in the faculty of "Pop Art". Kudaibergen continued to perform in public, including at a concert held for Teacher’s Day. His grandparents moved to Astana to support him with his performances. His grandmother said: "Dimash sings all songs live, without lip-syncing. We often have to squeeze his wet shirts, because he completely surrenders himself to every song on the stage. We moved to Astana to prepare his concert costumes, to cook his food in time. On December 30, 2014, Kudaibergen was awarded a laureate of the State Youth Prize Daryn. In 2015 he performed as a guest at a concert in Kyrgyzstan, at Zhas Kanat 2015, and at a concert for Astana Day.
