Coding Before a Family Party! 🎉 | WebSockets & Chat App Logic (Day 29 )
Day 29: Filming and scheduling this early today because it's my niece's 1st birthday! 🎂 Had to wrap up the coding grind by the afternoon before heading out, but we didn't break the streak.
Dev Update:
Took a big step forward with WebSockets today! I built two separate applications: first, a general broadcast app where everyone connected receives the messages. Second, a specific chat app utilizing "rooms" to control message visibility. Tested everything using Postman. Getting hands-on with this really cleared up the logic of how and when to use arrays and maps within WebSocket servers.
DSA Update:
Because Dev took up a chunk of my time and I had to leave, I didn't start a new topic. Instead, I re-did yesterday’s nightmare problem: "Reverse Nodes in k-Group". Taking a second pass at it made a massive difference. I wrote the code systematically, added clean comments, and finally cemented the iterative logic in my head. Sometimes, repeating a hard problem is better than rushing into a new one!
What's your strategy when you're short on time—do you learn something new or revise something hard? Let me know below! 👇 And don't forget to subscribe as we push for 500! 🎯
