Bee Balm (Monarda) - Smells Like Oranges, Tastes Like Oregano!

Bee Balm (genus Monarda), aka. Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa), Horse Mint or Oswego Tea, is an amazing wildflower in the Mint family that is native to North America. The flowers bloom in summer and can be purple, pink or red. The Thymol in the leaves makes the plant useful as a medicinal and culinary herb. Brushing up against the plant releases a citrus aroma, and the leaves taste like pungent Greek Oregano!
