In this documentary we moved to the Llanos of Venezuela, vast savannas that are lost in the horizon, bounded to the west by Colombia, on the south by the Guayana Shield, and north to the Cordillera de la Costa. These patches of forest become the last refuge bleak for many of the animals, when the heat of the dry season in the Llanos becomes hell.

The morrocoi turtle is the protagonist of our story. It is an endangered species highly appreciated by the rangers because they are tasty and easy to catch.
Our turtle is captured by the rangers to be cooked, but will get to escape and undertake a long journey back home across the plain, filled with many other species that like her struggle to survive under extreme and oppressive heat of the season dry.

On his journey, our turtle will meet a burrowing owl, nine-banded armadillo,anacondas, capybara, fish, wood storks, spectacled caiman, piranhas, galapagos, scavengers and boars. They have developed adaptive strategies for years and years of evolution that have allowed them to overcome the harsh conditions they face every day.
