The Shanghai World Expo 10 years later

Expo 2010 Shanghai, was held on both banks of the Huangpu River in Shanghai, from May 1st to October 31st 2010.
By the end of the expo, over 73 million people had visited – a record attendance – and 246 countries and international organizations had participated. It had the largest number of countries participating and was the most expensive Expo in the history of the world's fairs. The Shanghai World Expo was also the largest World's Fair site ever at 5.28 square km.
The China pavilion Was the largest one during the fair and the largest display in the history of the World Expo. The pavilion showcased China's civilization and modern achievements by combining traditional and modern elements in its architecture, landscaping and exhibits. The architectonic feature of the building was inspired by the Chinese roof bracket known as the dougong as well as the Chinese ding vessel. After the end of the Expo, the building was converted and reopened as the China Art Museum, the largest art museum in Asia.
The Mercedes-Benz Arena, a huge facility that can seat up to 18,000 spectators, hosted the opening ceremony for the World Expo 2010.
The arena is sponsored in a ten-year deal by Mercedes-Benz. It is one of the most popular arenas for concert tours of the performers in Mandarin and Cantonese, also in Korean and Japanese. Some of the world’s most famous artists have performed here, like Ariana Grande, Elton John, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Metallica, User, The Rolling Stones and Taylor Swift, among many others.
The Shanghai Expo was yet another first-rate global scale event, similar in significance to the Beijing Olympics, which would symbolize the economic and political rise of China in the 21st century.
The event demonstrated to both the Chinese populace and foreign nations the enormous progress of China's urban development in the heart of the nation's economic hub of Shanghai.
