Let's Begin:

The merger between Tortoise Acquisition Corp (SHLL stock) and Hyliion was COMPLETED on Friday OCTOBER 2ND and sent HYLN stock DOWN 50% as investors. Hyliion would be traded on the NYSE given that the merger WENT through under the new ticker "HYLN Stock". The valuation of Hyliion for the merger is 1.5 billion. Nikola Motors was valued at 3.3B during their merger and shot to highs of over a 30 billion dollar valuation. This is why this Hyliion merger news is extremely exciting. This transaction includes 325m of PIPE funds, which will be used for ramping up the company. Hyliion's CEO and founder Thomas Healy will remain as CEO, which is a good sign since Trevor Milton of Nikola stepped down.

They have one semi truck which is the Hypertruck ERX. The Hypertruck has machine learning algorithms in order to constantly improve and can receive software updates remotely like Tesla. The Hypertruck will not require any new infrastructure like Nikola Motors' hydrogen fuel cell stations. Hyliion uses existing service, support, and operational infrastructure. They Hypertruck can go 0-60 mph in 20 seconds, with a full 80k/lbs payload capacity, on par with the Tesla semi. Nikola is apparently 30 seconds.

The new innovation and science behind Hyliion and their vehicles is that they regenerate power and keep the engines in the sweet spot in order to make them more efficient and reduce their carbon footprint. The Hypertruck and their class 8 natural gas product build and store energy when going downhill and release the stored energy later to save energy. HYLN vehicles can also travel up to 25 miles on full electric with no performance degradation.

SHLL stock merger company Hyliion's Hypertruck is up to 35% less expensive than diesel, using 100% renewable natural gas. When fully loaded at 80,000lbs the Hyliion Hypertruck can travel over 1,300 miles; charging its batteries en-route and can be refueled in 10 minutes or less. Hyliion stock also claims a fleet of 389 hypertrucks offsets 100% of the greenhouse gas emissions produced in the entire state of California in one day, whatever that means. Renewable natural gas is delivered through the same existing nationwide infrastructure as natural gas. RNG will approximate 40% of transportation consumed natural gas by the end of 2020. SHLL stocks merger company Hyliion will not need to use any of the raised funds from the IPO on infrastructure, since they're "recycling" (lol) existing fuel stations. Renewable natural gas is currently available in over 700 commercial vehicle filling stations across the US and Canada.
