OSP video of Middletown fire chief's OVI arrest

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) - The Ohio State Patrol has released the dash cam video of the arrest of Middletown's fire chief, Paul Lolli. Lolli is currently on paid administrative leave after the Dec. 16 arrest.

The trooper told Lolli he pulled him over for driving 44 mph in a 35 zone. He also told Lolli he saw him weaving. Lolli told the trooper he had two beers and had stopped drinking at midnight. The traffic stop was approximately 1:30 a.m.

The trooper gave Lolli a field sobriety test and asked him to walk in a straight line with his arms to his side. After a couple attempts, Lolli admitted he couldn't do it. He then apologized and told the trooper he was the chief of the Middletown Fire Department.

The trooper told Lolli that he would take him to the Franklin Police Dept. since he would likely know people at the Middletown Police Dept. The trooper said they'd run Lolli through the back door as to not "cause a disturbance".

Lolli was charged with OVI and speeding. Assistant fire chief, Thomas Snively, is currently the department's acting chief.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for January 24.
