In the year 1348, the kingdom of Valeric was torn apart by war, famine, and betrayal. The village of Black Hollow once stood as a peaceful farming town beneath the protection of the king’s castle. But during a brutal civil war, enemy soldiers burned the village to the ground after the townspeople refused to reveal the hiding place of the young prince.
The knight in the image is Sir Aldric — one of the king’s most loyal warriors. He arrived too late to save the village. After fighting through the night, he became the last surviving defender. Exhausted, wounded, and surrounded by ashes, he knelt in the mud as dawn broke over the ruined land.
The torn red banner beside him was the symbol of the fallen kingdom. The bloody sword planted into the ground marked both victory and failure: he defeated the invaders, but could not save the innocent lives lost.
Legend says Sir Aldric remained there until sunrise before disappearing into the mountains. Years later, travelers claimed to see a lone armored figure wandering battlefields during storms — searching for redemption.
