I Want to Break Free was released in 1984 on the Queen album ‘The Works’ and I Want to Break free became one of Queen’s Most popular hits. Funny to think the video was banned in the 80s yet in 2021 I Want to break Free was used in a SuperBowl Advert.

In this video I break down How to Play the intro to I Want to Break Free, which actually comes in two parts. I also explain how to play the verses, the bridge and the signature Want to Break Free synth solo.

This is not a tutorial showing how to play the melody rather what is played on the album. i.e. the accompaniment track.

I also created a multitrack so you can see me play the song from start to finish.

The chords you will need in order to play I Want to Break Free on piano are as follows; AMaj BMaj C#min EMaj and F# (and F#sus4 if you can play it).
