Drum Duet w/ Kelly Voelkel

I find playing WITH someone, instead of AT them, makes the jam a lot more fun. I find trading bars to be cool and all, but I cant help but feel a sense of competition between two players depending on how you look at it. Sure showing off some chops is rad, and it can be inspiring to be apart of, but its not really my thing.
Maybe its just something I need to work on more, but for me, when you try to actually WRITE with a drummer, you can create such interesting and complimentary grooves and fills. For that, I find myself enjoying it more.
