Dr. Joseph Sciorra interviews Professor Jessica Barbata Jackson about her book Dixie's Italians: Sicilians, Race, and Citizenship in the Jim Crow Gulf South. The study takes a long look at emigration of Sicilians to destinations in the areas around New Orleans, Louisiana. The Gulf states have a strong immigrant history that layers newcomers from a variety of different origins.
