Bette Midler - The Rose (Phantom of the Opera 2004)

Bette Midler won the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "The Rose" in 1980. The song peaked at #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the adult contemporary chart. It was certified gold for selling over half a million copies.

This music video features clips / scenes from "The Phantom of the Opera" -- a 2004 film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1986 musical. It stars Gerard Butler as the Phantom, Emmy Rossum as Christine Daaé, and Patrick Wilson as Raou. The movie, while a visual spectacle, received mixed reviews from the critics for its flat storyline.
