Harvesting, canning, fermenting and pickling from the garden | Mobile home kitchen
We can grow a beautiful garden, and we all should. Growing food doesn’t stop there, that’s where it begins. In todays video I’m showing you what I do with my daily garden harvest and tricks I use to keep food fresh.
In the video I’m making:
Beet and cabbage kraut (fermented)
Pickled red onions (refrigerated)
Pickled beets (canned for shelf stability)
*disclaimer* canning is nothing to be afraid of, however it is important to follow canning guidelines and do what makes you feel comfortable. I am not giving you advice, I’m just showing what I’m doing, what works for me, and hopefully inspiring you to grow and preserve food.
I recommend the ball blue book of canning: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asin=B01EMDH23I&preview=newtab&linkCode=kpe&ref_=cm_sw_r_kb_dp_A7R6BT3D0P0MQEDHA95J&tag=johnsonbranchfarm-20
