Offshore Platform Pump — SIMSITE® 3 x 2 x 8 Chemical Pump I Chloride Dosing Solution
This SIMSITE® 3 × 2 × 8 Chloride Dosing Chemical Pump was designed and manufactured by SIMS Pump Valve Company for an aggressive hypochlorite application aboard an offshore platform.
Constructed from SIMSITE® Structural Composite material, the pump provides a corrosion resistant alternative to conventional metallic chemical pumps. It will not corrode in seawater, wastewater, or many aggressive chemical services, helping prevent the pitting, electrolysis, erosion, and performance deterioration commonly experienced with bronze, stainless-steel, and duplex stainless-steel components.
The pump is rated for 43 m³/h at 27 meters of head at 3,550 RPM and is driven by a 10-horsepower motor. Its hydraulic design supports reliable chemical dosing, stable flow, and efficient operation in demanding offshore service conditions.
The SIMSITE® Structural Composite Pump Impeller is lightweight and precision machined to maintain accurate hydraulic geometry, balance, and operating clearances. Its reduced rotating mass lowers startup torque and loading on the pump shaft, bearings, and mechanical seals while helping minimize vibration and shaft deflection.
SIMSITE® Pump Impellers resist corrosion, erosion, cavitation, and chemical attack, allowing the pump to maintain reliable performance over an extended service life. These corrosion resistant pump impellers and erosion resistant pump parts also reduce maintenance requirements and support more energy efficient pump operation.
