Elephant Calf Born at San Diego Zoo Safari Park
Animal care staff at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park are celebrating the birth of a baby elephant, born just before midnight on Aug. 12—on World Elephant Day—to mother Ndulamitsi, better known as “Ndula.” The calf, a male, was born without complications and began nursing shortly after birth.
