There are a few reasons you may need a bank account in Mexico, and the requirements to open an account with a Mexican bank weren't as simple as we thought.

As we learn from our experiences and challenges, we are documenting to share with you what we've learned to help you save time making the same mistakes we did. Hopefully, this video will ease your experience opening up a bank account in Mexico.

In Mexico unlike other places, the bank is the middle person for many transactions. For example if you want to go purchase a concert ticket, pay a utility bill or send transfers, that will typically require an in-person visit to the bank. At times the lines to pay can be extremely long, as of recent more and more banks are offering online services to avoid those headaches.

Banks in Mexico include: BBVA, Citibank, Santander, Banco Aztecas, HSBC, just to name a few.
